We've broken down the average aparment into four rooms and what you need to furnish them. Since we're not the decorating guy from Queer Eye, you won't get a discussion on décor or a trip to Storehouse or Williams-Sonoma from us. What you will get is a quick and dirty list to get you on your way. From towels to tables, we'll highlight stuff to give your place a little somethin'-somethin'.
We know that buying furniture is an expensive proposition and given a choice between a nicer sofa and a trip to Vegas with buddies, well the sofa loses every time. But having attractive furniture will make your place more enjoyable and may encourage some one to stay awhile. We're fans of getting one really nice piece you can be proud of. As for the rest, that's what Ikea and the like are for -- to provide affordable, attractive furniture. Used furniture stores and thrift stores also come in handy. Throw in some lamps, coasters, candles, a couple of rugs, and a vase to finish it off and you're done.

It may seem silly (and distinctly reminiscent of freshman year) to
create a list of furniture and items you need for your place. Chances
are you have much of this stuff already. What you don’t have, you can
get relatively inexpensively. But whatever you buy, try to get the best
quality stuff you can afford – you may have to live with this for
awhile. |

section, we talked about what you need for cooking in your kitchen.

prepare a meal, it would be nice to have something for your guests to
eat and drink from other than a "Beach Party Weekend at Hooters"
plastic mug and two dining hall plates. |
