Breakfast Recipes: French Toast |

All-American French Toast It's
one of those things everyone loves and is so ridiculously simple to
prepare. Brian learned to make it at 13, David's made it for years, and
while they've run across multiple variations, it's still just bread,
eggs, and milk. French toast is fantastic with berries and powered
sugar or served with butter and syrup:1 egg 1/3 cup milk 4 slices of bread or 1/2 loaf of baguette, quartered 1/4 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tbsp butter
Mix
egg and milk in medium mixing bowl. Add vanilla and nutmeg. Dip bread
into the batter on each side and rest on a plate. Melt butter in large
skillet at medium-high heat and cover the skillet. Once butter has
melted, place bread in the skillet and brown on each side. Serve
immediately. |
