bbGirl: Jaime L.
Saskatoon, Saskatchwan
What do I think makes a better guy? First, I was going to say honesty,
brutal honesty. Simply put, I'm not much into playing games. Then, I
realized that I much prefer tactful honesty. A backhanded compliment is
still a backhand. It doesn't matter if it was supposed to say
something nice. Think about phrasing. For example, don't say, "That
would look fantastic on a thinner person." One of my recent personal
favorites is "You're not looking any fatter." Instead, maybe somthing
along the lines of, "That's a great dress, but it does not do you
justice."
Basically, what I want is that you don't
lie to me, don't just say what you think I want to hear, but don't be
an idiot about speaking your mind. Think a moment bdfore speaking. Keep
in mind, a pause is fine -- stalling isn't. So, I guess you have to be
pretty quick on your feet with me in order to phrase the truth
tactfully. That, in addition to a sense of humor. . . if you can pull
off a tactless, but honest response that makes me laugh, you're not
going to offend me. Interested becoming a BBGirl?Write us a brief description of something you like or something a guy that you know does (200-500 words) and send it to bbgirls@bebetterguys.com, with " BBGirl" in the subject line. Good Stuff for Better Guys |
Most guys probably don’t consider the environment when they shave, but with Al Gore winning a Nobel Prize, that might have to change. Fortunately, there are green products available for men. The Body Shop has made environmentally-responsible products for years. Destination products give you green, good stuff and a geography lesson on the packaging. Another option is California North for face and hair, certified safe for animals or the environment. Look great and save a tree, or something. |
