We don't care what you wear to bed, or if
you wear anything to bed. We don't want to get into it. However, when
you are hanging around before bed or on weekend mornings, you can opt
to hang around in your ratty sweats, but we encourage you to get some
respectable pajamas and a robe. This way, even when you're just
hanging around, you're not "hanging out."PajamasWhether you
actually sleep in them or just lay about in them, they should to be
comfortable and breathable. Don't give pajamas a bad rap, thinking it's
what you're relegated to wear after you get married or when you're 5
years old. They are a comfortable form of loungewear, particularly
if you wear the bottoms and she wears the top. A few more things about
pajamas:
Lounging in pajamas should not be confused with leaving the house in them.
No footie pajamas, junior.
Natural materials are the best option. You
can have lighter cotton ones in the summer months, and flannel ones
when you need the extra warmth. Silk is a luxe option, but can be,
shall we say, slippery.
RobeMuch like pajamas, you
can hang around in a robe for a few hours on Sunday morning, reading
the paper, having coffee, and sobering up. You want to select a
robe that fits properly and that's comfortable. First, fit.
It's got to come to your wrists like a normal coat might and not your
elbows, like the one that David is still hanging on to. You're not
scoring points if you step out of the bathroom in a robe that looks
like it last fit you when you were 13. The material matters for
comfort as well. Robes can be made of cotton or terrycloth, silk,
or blends. Whatever your preference, choose one that's
subtle. You're not Hef, and if you are Hef, why are you reading
