Be Better Guys: No matter how much you have, take care of your hairIsn't it funny how as guys get older, hair disappears from the area where they want it (their heads) and repositions itself in areas where they don't (their upper arms, their chests, their backs, their ears and noses)?  Actually, it's serious business and some have profited handsomely because of hair loss and body hair removal. The hair on your head (or lack thereof) has as much to do with a guy's image of himself as his physique or whether or not he has zits. The following primer is for our brethren with hair.

Hair Care

Hair care and maintenance is one of those odd areas that guys skimp on.  They go to cheap barbers, don't condition, use lousy hair products, and generally take it for granted.  We're pretty sure you shampoo.  We're not sure you shampoo often enough. And we're almost positive you don't condition your hair enough.  If you care about being healthy, your hair should also be healthy. The following steps will help maintain healthy, natural looking hair:

Shampoos and conditioners are available at most drugstores and markets. Conditioners will soften and moisturize your hair, add shine and reduce static. Buy both.

There are higher-end shampoos and conditioners that match your hair type — dry, oily, thick, thin, leaving. These products may cost more but many guys swear by them.

You can wash your hair every other day unless you're extremely active or sweaty on a daily basis or have oily hair. Washing daily can dry out your hair.

Rotate shampooing your hair one day and conditioning it on another to take best advantage of both. Your hair eventually gets used to whatever products you use, so it makes sense to switch them up. It's also a good option if you don't have tons of time to spend in the shower.

While working together at a restaurant in Georgetown...
David would disappear from the floor for minutes at a time, leaving his tables unattended for other waiters to deal with. What was he doing?  Brian found him in the guys' changing room blow-drying his hair with his Vidal Sassoon hair dryer to get the proper flip to his sling-do.  Hey, it was the late ‘80s, remember, that was the thing.
