Never underestimate the power of
scent. Cologne is very effective if used in
moderation–your body chemistry will enhance it
further. This is why the same scent doesn't have the same smell
on everyone. The basic rule is that if someone who's 5 feet or
more away can smell you, you've put too much on (right now, you're
probably thinking to yourself that you put on too much this
morning). A couple of squirts should do it, so: Apply cologne to either pulse points or body parts with hair. This means applied to your hair, neck, wrists, crook of the elbow, and
chest. Pick two spots, because all four can be overwhelming.
Choose a few of fragrances for your repertoire.
Get a lighter one for the office and daytime and a muskier one for
going out in the evening. Never mix the two. You'll want to
use the lighter scent more in the summer months and heavier one in
winter months.
Finding a scent that works for you is a
matter of personal preference and research. The popular ones like
Davidoff's Good Life or Calvin Klein's Contradiction may not work best
with your body chemistry. If you're not sure what smells good on
you go to a department store or some place like Sephora and
try some different ones. If in doubt, ask a beautiful woman for
her advice.
Remember Drakkar? For a while, it was the scent. One of
Brian's boys wore it constantly and always
attracted girls while cruising the malls. They'd ask him, "Ooohh,
what are you wearing?" and follow up with, "You smell
goooood." Every time, dude got a phone number. Brian
figured if it was like that, he needed to wear Drakkar, too. But
all he ever got was "Oh, is that Drakkar?" and then the backs of their
heads. Except when they asked, "Where did your friend go?"
To add injury to insult, Brian ended up chauffeuring the guy to his
dates because the dude didn't drive. |
