One reader, Jon, apparently had a couple of questions for us. Jon wouldn’t be pulling our leg, would he? (See the last question) Q: I'm wondering if you can speak to a few things: 1. Could you address road rage? 2. What is the most important thing about tattoos? 3. Is voting/volunteerism/community involvement part of being a better guy? 4. If I want to change my "look", how do I go about it, i.e. how do I know what is fashionable (or perhaps even trendy)? 5. What are the trendy, new cocktails people are drinking? 6. Do girls like it when you order their drink for them? 7. What is appropriate "morning-after" behavior? 8. How do you balance a checkbook? 9. Is it important to start a 401k when you are 25, or should one wait until later? 10. What if I enjoyed the beat-downs? =) A: Jon, Brian here. I would say, succinctly. . . 1. Road rage is a very good reason to start using public transportation 2. I have a tattoo because it has personal meaning, not something picked off the board, but I probably wouldn’t recommend getting one. 3. You have to vote, or you get what you get. Both David and I volunteer in the DC community and find it rewarding. Not as enjoyable as our former support of strippers working their way through college, but rewarding all the same. 4. If you want trendy, pick up Interview Magazine or go out to the hottest spot in town @ 2 am, then see where the "cool kids" head afterwards. You'll see all the hot shit there. Then, steal those things that best match you physically and tweak them for your day to day wear. 5. Flavored martinis are dead, mojitos are old news. But classic cocktails (Sidecars, Old-fashioneds) are making a comeback. Women are learning to love brown liquor. 6. Women like you ordering drinks for them when they like you. 7. Morning-after: Be polite, offer coffee or some beverage, take her phone number (if it's the first time), and pay for her cab ride home. 8. http://www.msusa.net/Monitor/2003Monitor/January%202003/markl103.html. He explains balancing your checkbook quite well. 9. You can't start your 401K too soon, even if all you can afford to do is the bare minimum. 10. If you like the beat-downs, we know some people who can help you. . . . |
