I’ll say this for Michelle Williams (who got her start beating out thousands of girls to make the cut on “Dawson’s Creek“…remember that? Sure, you don’t) – in a way, she is one of the most unlikely stars we have in movies today, having grown up as a pretty earthy farm girl in Montana and ending up marrying and raising kids with Heath Ledger, whose sudden passing is possibily the most tragic story in modern day Hollywood, besides Michael Strahan’s failed sitcom career (hey, we kid because we love!). I first saw Michelle in Dick, a movie that spoofs the “outing” of Dick Nixon by two blonde airheads (the other being Kirsten Dunst before the Spiderman series) and Michelle was just lovable – goofy, gawky, curvy, and the “brains” behind the duo. Yes, Kirsten was supposed to be the sexy one. Funny how life happens.
Now, Michelle has grown into a 31-year-old woman of exceptional depth in both her skill and appeal. Watch the almost-9 1/2-Weeks-like Blue Valentine, in theaters now. It’s not a good time at the movies; it’s a deep downer. But the last time I saw a woman on screen that I just wanted to wrap my arms around and hold was Scarlett Johansson in Woody Allen’s Match Point. That makes for great 1 – 2 combo of movies to watch with your woman. Hold her close; you’ll need to.

I am sorry, but you are mistaken. Mr ledger did not commit suicide. Tabloid media and an insurance company that did not want to pay out made that up. I have read the autopsy report as you can too. He died of accidentally combining LOW dose and under the prescribed doses of legally obtained prescriptions. Some were time release, meaning he did not ingest them the day he died, but there was enough left in his blood stream to mix with the others. Mr. Ledger had always suffered from serious insomnia, he had a bad flue with an awful cough, codeine is often prescribed for that. He had the prescribed amount and under the prescribed amount in his blood stream. In other words he was following the dosage instructions on the bottle! He made a mistake when he was trying to get better. He had 2 weeks until he could be with his little baby girl. He wanted to get better that week and then finish his movie the following week. He loved his parents, his 3 sisters and 2 step sisters and he adored his daughter. Most of all Heath LOVED life. Please stop spreading this gossip. It hurts those of us who knew him. Miss Williams is an awesome person to work with, she loved Heath and you hurt her too with this awful talk. I met and worked with both of them in 2004.
Fair enough, we’ll modify how we describe his passing.
