Ask the Guys: What Does She Mean When She Says “I’m Not Looking for a Relationship”?!

What she means is "Yes, I AM dating, just not dating you"

Ask the Guys: We’ve all approached that killer woman and put our cojones on the line to ask her out, all excited and primed for a future, only to have her shoot back, deadpan, “I’m really not looking for a relationship right now.” Flat line.  That just happened to Jason in Atlanta so he asked The Guys – does this mean I’m through?

The Guys: Brother, we have all been there.  You think you’re vibing well with a woman you meet at the bar or a party or even at work; you hold back until juuust the right moment to put everything you’ve got on the line:  “So let’s get together and have dinner”, or whatever your patented, road-tested, goin’-in-for-the-close line is that you’ve used countless times before.  But this time, it’s different.  She shuts you down cold with the classic high, hard one – “I’m really not looking for a relationship right now.”  Jason, and to all other men out there, we take our guyhood seriously and with the utmost of respect, so when we lay down the truth to ya, we do it with only the sincerest desires to keep you from wasting your time.

You, my friend, are wasting your time.  Any woman who says she’s not looking for a relationship only left out the “….with you” part.  Every woman I’ve ever known, if she comes across a guy who truly attracts her, even if she just got off a major crusher of a break-up, will dive in if she feels the guy’s truly running her engine.   Even when she’s on the rebound, she’ll play if, in her heart, she’s feelin’ you and wants to roll the dice with you.  It sucks when she doesn’t, like in Jason’s case, but now you know. This is a woman’s way of respectfully telling you “see you in the next lifetime, amigo.”

Which only means, go after her hotter friend.
