Valentines Day, typically a favorite holiday for women, it’s just as important for us men as well. Done right, the time and money put into making your wife or girlfriend feel special could pay off for you as well. In my younger days, I was an advocate for breaking up before Valentine’s Day and rekindling the romancing afterwards. It was far more important to keep money in my pocket than to see a smile on her face; however, with age, I’m committed to finding a Valentine and spending it right. Besides, spending Valentines Day alone is no fun for guys either.

My wife’s best friend makes this dish of nachos. It’s a tray really. Takes ‘em right out of the oven when they’re done and dollops some sour cream on the top and sets ‘em out before me and her husband when we watch football at their house. This is an appetizer. Inevitably I eat half of the tray myself. It’s a baking sheet and the pile of chips and stuff is like 5 or 6 inches high because it’s not just chips and salsa. It’s chips layered with ground beef and black beans and cheese and peppers. Naturally when dinner comes around I’m not interested. ‘Cause I’m drunk and full on these nachos.

My wife hated tomato juice. Wouldn’t drink it and she explained why: “It’s too salty and its texture is like glue softener and the taste is like ass.”
